INFRARED SUANA - F&Q

How does an infrared sauna work?

The idea behind infrared therapy is to heat your body directly with infrared heat. In an infrared sauna, the heat is heating your body directly and 20% of the heat is heating the air. You want to heat your body core, meaning your front core and your back core. Your body absorbs the infrared heat and reacts to it.

The infrared heat raises your core body temperature and stimulates your lymphatic system, immune system and your cardiovascular system. Your bodies response to that is to sweat profusely.

In addition to the infrared heat triggering a profuse sweat, the water in our body also resonate with far infrared heat and this also helps with the detoxification process.

With this in mind, you now understand why we stress the importance of both front and back wall heaters in an infrared sauna. If you do not have front heaters in your sauna, you will not raise your core body temperature as well and you will not receive as much of the desired effect. Our sauna has heaters all around you… on your front, back, sides, legs and feet.

What should I expect?

Because infrared saunas can allow you to detox at a comfortable heat, you should expect to sweat, always depending on how your body detoxes. For optimum results, the saunas are set between 42-52 degrees for 45 minutes. Please let us know your preference of heat threshold when you arrive. You will relax with your reading material or meditation or music for the 45 minutes- we strongly recommend a digital detox, you came here to relax, remember?

What should you wear during your session?

Because our sauna space is private, you are free to wear what ever you are most comfortable in- whether that be nothing but your towel or a swimming costume. We recommend wearing loose clothing for afterwards.

How to prepare for your session?

Make sure you drink plenty of water before during and after your session- we recommend 500ml an hour or so before your session. Bring a towel, water, and any reading material you might enjoy during your session. Cleansing your skin of any makeup  or product before the session will help your body to detox better. Yes. We require upfront payment and if there is a cancellation within 6 hours, you will forfeit the session.
